The Importance of Exercise
There is simply no way to doubt that exercise is important for good health. If you are one of those people who aren’t yet aware of this fact then you may be in need of some drastic changes to your lifestyle – failing to do so will leave you at high risk to all kinds of problems. Firstly, you’ll find that you are weak, and your lungs may not function as well as they should. The heart can also become weak and thus more susceptible to problems as you age. Whilst whole series of books have been published on how vital exercise is to our wellbeing, and a great number of magazines on fitness exist, we will just look at the most basic facts in this article which will help you understand some of the fundamentals about the importance of exercise. Firstly, let’s look at the effects exercise has on our strength, and the reason why this is important. Exercise causes our muscles to develop. As our muscles are used tiny tears occur in the tissue which heals to become stronger. Muscle size increases and strength greatens as we continue to exercise. This can be useful in many simple day-to-day ways such as carrying our shopping bags home, but is also important for posture. Strong muscles allow us to keep better posture which means we are less likely to have problems with our body as we get older. More bad habits - Smoking...Exercise can also help to prevent disease. The immune system becomes more effective in someone who regularly exercises due to the increased energy levels in the body. Many people who have drunk or smoked for the duration of their lives do not succumb so easily to the damaging effects which these activities have on their health because they have also exercised. Whilst exercise shouldn’t be used as an excuse to keep smoking, if you are intent on continuing to smoke at least exercise will help reduce the likelihood of succumbing to smoking-related illness. Regular exercise over a prolonged period of time gives us greater physical stamina and also improves our cardiovascular system. The heart receives the greatest benefits of endurance-based exercise becoming stronger and thus more able to pump blood around the body. Exercise importance during weight lossThe blood circulation improves and you will find yourself able to last longer at all kinds of activities, whether physical or mental, if you have improved your stamina through exercise. As we must all know exercise is the key to losing weight. Without exercise, our chances of reducing body fat quantity are low. Whilst diet can reduce our body fat this alone is not a good method. It simply starves the body and puts in under strain. Instead, exercise should be done to burn fat from the body and at the same time improve physical health instead of making our bodies weaker. Finally, increasing the body’s flexibility is also important. Firstly, this helps us to carry out the other types of exercise with a lower risk or accidental injury through training. It also helps to improve our posture along with muscle strength. All these types of exercise are very important for our health and should be done on a regular basis to ensure we remain fit and well.
